3rd Thought Entertainment has found its very existence because of the attempts of three independent founding members who began to fuse their ideas to produce a whole which would be three times more powerful. Soon, three more minds were added to the clan and every individual thought was now six times mightier. And while this happened, the sense of originality was never taken away from the individual thought source (author). So now, one comes up with the original idea of a song and another may add a melody and find his own space in the song and yet never eclipse the source of originality. Likewise, another throws in ideas for visuals to accompany the song, and yet another creates the ancillary artwork and the complete entertainment module is juxtaposed by exactly 6 people. The meaning of this is lucid—a single independent artist is capable of ‘x’ amount of possibilities and creations but if he willingly allows more minds to work on different aspects of his original idea which he is not excellent at, the possibilities and creation exponentially increase. If he doesn’t allow any, the author is still as good.

The 3rd Community is our expanding space within which we wish to add more experimental artists to our current repertoire. Artists can be poets, musicians, film makers, film or music technicians, actors, painters, photographers, animators, graphic designers, writers, music managers, etc., or besides these, any other type of experimental artist. The objective of the 3rd Community is to create a catalog of independent artists whom we can assist with our expertise and in eventuality these new artists begin to lend a hand to others who are imbibed into the community. The 3rd Community’s mission is to create a self sufficient society to generate far-end intelligent art which is not compromised and which can be achieved with the support of the parent company (3rd Thought Entertainment) and other artists from the community.

Co-Lab is the platform which is founded on the 3rd Community and is a space for artists under this umbrella (Music, movies, publications, and visual art) to collaborate not just with peers in their own section but also with artists from other sections. Below is a presentation that shows the permutations and combinations with results of artistic collaborations across the sections in 3rd Community.

How does 3rd Community function?

The distinguishing factor of the 3rd Community is its inclination towards producing and supporting experimental forms of art. This is a situation to hypothetically exemplify the functioning of the 3rd Community: Mr. A has written a script which no production house wants to touch because it doesn’t seem to have commercial viability. At the 3rd Community, we have member technicians, who may find a connection with the script and may volunteer to be the Director of Photography (DoP), animators, storyboard artists, background music composers, costume and make up artists, and so on and so forth. Similarly, in a musical scenario, you can find an artist whom you can request to make your album cover and artwork besides others who may want to make a music video for you. This way, an artist finishes a complete product without expenditure on ancillary requirements (artwork, video etc) and others who have assisted him/her have added more original work to their portfolio. 3rd Community basically gives you an experimental artist bank to build your crew for movies, music, books, etc—your ‘kind’ of people.

How will I as an artist benefit from 3rd Community?

The most significant benefit that the 3rd Community gives to an artist is familiarity—the fact that we believe in your eccentricity. The pivotal benefit is our specialization in experimental art and hence it is not only easier to find likeminded people here but the 3rd Community also becomes a converging private spot from where the right clients may pick you up for certain projects. If we select an artist for the 3rd Community, he/she will have their personal page on which their portfolio will be displayed. Other artists and prospective clients will be able to contact you and be directed to you. Besides, 3rd Thought Entertainment will make special efforts in making your work visible to a larger audience than you may have now by means of our international associates and research in finding the most conducive demography for every genre and form of art that you may specialize in. The 3rd Community will also be actively part of global art festivals and will attempt to showcase your work to your foreign counterparts and help you find more growth as an artist by exposing you to such environments.

What is Co-Lab?

Co-Lab is the alliance tool of 3rd Community which holds the records of the artistic collaborations. When you build your crew on 3rd community and your final artifact is complete, it enters the library of Co-Lab. In the future, visitors, clients or other artists can simply contact you by seeing your earlier work at Co-Lab and the wheel begins rolling again for you. Each active member on a Co-Lab project has equal rights over the final artifact that he/she has contributed to and he/she has the permission to display/use/sell it anywhere he/she likes. Co-Lab, however, will attempt to push the boundaries of exposing the final artifact as much as possible in order to take an artist to the ‘Big’ league and will have an equal stake in the ownership of the artifact. Any profits that will be made will be equally divided by each contributing artist and 3rd Community will have a stake equal to any of the artists.

What 3rd Community will do for you?

Display your selected work on our website. Your personal page will be under the scanner of other artists and prospective clients from around the world. 3rd Thought Records have signed music artists who will be touring the world and we will be displaying artwork, visuals and designing the venue with YOUR portfolio hence giving you maximum exposure in the right places. We intend to hold dedicated exhibitions, film and music festivals of our artists' work. We become an expert channel to put you through to the right clients where you are selected to do work according to what YOU like and not what they demand. We aim to get you international media coverage for your work in avenues of your specific concern in magazines, websites, forums, channels etc. We are in synch with art festivals happening around the world and we will attempt to display your work at every event possible.

What 3rd Community wants from you?

You need to begin with sending in copies of your portfolio either by post or by e-mail. If our curators think that you fit in the scheme of the 3rd Community and its immediate plans, we will get back to you. If you are picked, we will create your artist page and load your portfolio and imbibe you into the 3rd Community and begin to work towards promoting you while you may also get offers from other artists in the community to collaborate.
